Don’t Screen Us Out Parliament Demonstration – Monday 18 April – London

Apr 7, 2016 | Event

Join people with Down’s syndrome, their families, and the wider community outside Parliament, as we send a message loud and clear to Jeremy Hunt and the Government that:
1/ Proposals to introduce a new pre-natal screening test that is projected to lead to a profound reduction in birth numbers of people with Down syndrome are highly concerning.
2/ People with Down’s syndrome should be valued in our society.
3/ The Government should be putting much more effort into supporting people with Down’s syndrome and their families, and ensuring the provision of balanced information for parents with a pregnancy diagnosis of Down’s syndrome.
People of all ages are welcome.
For more information on the Government’s new proposals see our official Campaign Briefing, and our more detailed FAQ.
If you are attending, please send a quick email to your MP letting them know that the event is on this Monday and ask that they come and visit you to hear your concerns at the demonstration. You can find your MP on the Parliamentary website.
Please also make sure to invite your friends to the event. If you are on Facebook, please invite friends to the event from our Facebook event page.
