Nov 7, 2016 | Event

Mencap, a charity which supports people with learning disabilities, is assisting the Nuffield Bioethics Council to gather people’s thoughts on non-invasive prenatal testing. At this time, the Nuffield Bioethics Council are interested to hear the thoughts of people who have Down’s syndrome. They intend to produce a report of their findings.

Do you or someone you know have Down’s syndrome, are older than 18 and may be interested in being involved? If so, please check the list below applies to you.

  • I am able to speak and to take part in an interview.
  • I have previous knowledge of sex, pregnancy and reproduction.
  • I have ongoing contact with a local group to ensure follow up support can be offered if necessary (emotional support will be commissioned by Mencap and be available to all those taking part).
  • I have an interest and be willing to attend a session on 12th November in London or on the 16th November to find out more about this process.

For more details please see the easy read information sheet here. If you or someone else feels that they want to take part please email us dontscreenusout@gmail.com and we will help organise the rest with you from there. Please note travel expenses will be covered for two people to attend.
