BBC Sunday Morning Live – Down’s syndrome: Lived reality vs outdated stereotypes

Don’t Screen Us Out spokesperson Lynn Murray points out the difference between the actual lived reality of a life for a person with Down’s syndrome and their family versus outdated, condescending and downright discriminatory view that is presented by some others – as is so well illustrated by the positive and negative accounts given by two other guests on the BBC Sunday Morning Live panel.

The latter view is far too often described in personal first-hand testimonies from families with a pre-natal diagnosis in their accounts of dealing with medical professionals.
